The 3rd Wave of Capture

This newsletter provides you with an introduction to some full featured and new "3rd Wave" document capture solutions. The third wave picks up where the last wave left off. Each of these products brings something unique and powerful to the capture process.

The Three Pillars of ECM

For those that need a bit more of a primer on "information capture" maybe this will help.

Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems depend on three logical elements in order to be viable business solutions. These are:

1. Information Capture

2. Content Management

3. Content Preservation

The logic is relatively straight forward, content must be identified, migrated, scanned (in the case of paper), or "captured" for use by the content management system in some other way.

If you don't have all three, you don't really have ECM.

The products on the left all help you capture paper documents. Some of these companies can also extend that process into other types of information capture.
