Executive Summary

After years of pondering what would happen when Microsoft entered the ECM market, we are finally starting to see the effect with the launch of SharePoint 2007 and ECM as a main functional area. Today, 100 million users have some degree of Microsoft ECM functionality, though how Microsoft defines it leaves holes that only progressive ECM solution providers, who have made integration with SharePoint a priority for their clients, can address.

Traditional ECM vendors opt for a “co-existence” strategy that locks users into expensive and proprietary silos of data; this contradicts Microsoft’s collaboration philosophy, which is why SharePoint became so popular in the first place. Clearview ECM offers a means by which to maximize Microsoft SharePoint and integrated ECM.
